WakeShake Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026 · Applies to the WakeShake apps for Android and iOS
WakeShake ("we", "the app") is published by Long Hung Ta, an independent developer in Vietnam. Contact: hectorta1989@outlook.com.
The short version
- No account and no sign-up. We don't run a server that stores your data.
- Your alarms, wake-up missions, wake history, XP, streaks and settings are stored only on your device.
- The camera is used only during a QR-code or photo mission. Images are analysed on your device and are never saved or uploaded.
- On Android, the free version shows ads from Google AdMob (the iOS app has no ads), and purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple through RevenueCat. These services receive the limited data described below.
Data stored on your device
Alarm settings (time, label, repeat days, mission, sound), wake records (date, time, success, completion time, XP) and preferences. You can delete all of it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. This data is excluded from device backups or, where backup is enabled by your operating system, stays inside your own Google/Apple backup.
Camera
With your permission, the camera is used during QR-code and photo missions. Frames are processed in memory by Google ML Kit (Android) or Apple Vision / ML Kit (iOS) on the device to detect a barcode or recognise an object. No image leaves the device.
Third-party services
| Service | Why | Data it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Showing ads in the free version on Android (not used on iOS) | IP address (approximate location), advertising ID / app set ID, app interactions with ads, diagnostic information. Used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. |
| RevenueCat | Processing and restoring purchases of WakeShake Pro | An anonymous app user ID, purchase history (product, price, dates) and basic device information. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. |
| Google Play / Apple App Store | Payments | Payments are handled entirely by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details. |
| Google ML Kit | On-device object and barcode recognition | ML Kit may send Google limited device information, app information, performance metrics and a per-installation identifier for diagnostics. No images are sent. |
Advertising choices and consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. The iOS app shows no ads and does not track you. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Buying WakeShake Pro removes ads.
Children
WakeShake is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and the app stores are retained as required for billing, tax and restoring purchases. To ask for deletion of the RevenueCat record linked to your anonymous app user ID, email us from the device's store account and we will forward the request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Because we don't hold your data on our own servers, most requests can be met by deleting the app data. For anything else, contact us at the email above.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
